It’s only now that he’s been corrupted that I can fully appreciate the real Peeta. Even more than I would’ve if he’d died. The kindness, the steadiness, the warmth that had an unexpected head behind it. Outside of Prim, my mother, and Gale, how many people in the world love me unconditionally? ~ Mockingjay

Outside of a few people in each of our lives, how many people can we say truly unconditionally love us? To the point that they are relentlessly selfless in their dealings with us. To the point that, if we were in the arena together, they would do everything in their power to make sure we live instead of them?

I know a few people—my husband, mom, dad, and a handful more, maybe. But one I know for sure—because he’s already done it—is Christ. And I didn’t even know he loved me. I didn’t even exist yet. Yet he gave his life for me so that I may truly Live today—and for all eternity.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. ~ John 15:13 (ESV)
