I fall silent. It isn’t. It isn’t how he would be treating me at all. He would be trying to get me back at any cost. Not shutting me out, abandoning me, greeting me with hostility at every turn. ~ Mockingjay
Where Peeta would treat Katniss with love, care, and forgiveness, she treats him with hostility, unforgiveness, and hopelessness. When Haymitch makes her realize this, everything changes. Katniss softens toward Peeta and begins to treat him as he would treat her—she works to help him get back to him.
Jesus taught us to treat others the way we would want to be treated. But, do we realize that the way we want to be treated is the way he’s treated us? With love, grace, forgiveness, generosity, kindness, and gentleness.
How many people do we truly treat the way we truly want to be treated—by Him?
Time to start treating Peeta the way he would treat us.
