Kylo Ren: Forgive me. I feel it again… the call from light. Supreme Leader senses it. Show me again the power of the darkness, and I’ll let nothing stand in our way. Show me, grandfather, and I will finish what you started.

Clearly this kid is not getting messages from Vader, who turned to the light before dying to save his son—Luke. And, if the slight edit to the end of Star Wars Episode VII is to be believed, the change is true and Vader discovers how to live on though he died. Perhaps this call to the light Ren is experiencing is actually from his grandfather, but he’s being deceived into believing his grandfather is calling him to the Dark Side.
Ren wouldn’t be the first to do evil with the intention of good. He thinks he’s following his grandfather in a worthy task, however, he seems to be being used. Many have read and interpreted the Bible, a text meant for good, to do horrible things. They think they are doing the will of God, but are they really?
There are a plethora of warnings throughout the Bible that false prophets and teachers are going to thrive on twisting God’s word, leading people to do evil in the name of good.
But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed. ~ 2 Peter 2:1-3 NLT
Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. ~ 1 John 4:1 NLT
For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. ~ 2 Timothy 4:3-4 NLT
Don’t believe everything you hear. Put it to the test. Ask questions. Observe. Learn. Discern. 😉
